After flying in business and first for most of our international flights, I’ve had some readers request more economy flight reviews. Being that Easyjet has very economical prices especially for some of their longer routes and we had never been to Iceland, we decided to give it a go.

The Experience

I have been on over 40 Easyjet flights for work and pleasure trips and this flight was no different when it came to the average experience. Boarding is done in steps. You can pay for Speedy Boarding which lets you board first and take an extra piece of hand baggage. This is followed by parents with children under 5 and those needing assistance. Then there’s everyone else. Depending on the airport, you might board using either the plane’s front entrance or both front and rear in order to board faster as Easyjet thrives on quick turnaround times.

With Easyjet, if you book last minute, you can end up paying more than for a legacy airline (Swiss, Air France, etc.). However, by booking ahead by a few months we were able to snag a roundtrip flight for under $150 USD per person.

The Interior

Easyjet’s 320’s have a 3-3 configuration and their seats do not recline. For a flight that’s less than 4 hours and for the price I paid, there’s not much to complain about.

The seats are 18“ wide and seating capacity is 180. We were seated in 3A and 3B as you are given upfront seating with Speedy Boarding. I’m 5’10” and the leg room is ample as my knees weren’t touching the seat in front of me.

The Food and Beverages

As a low cost carrier (LCC), Easyjet does not serve any food or beverage for free but has a decent selection of drinks, snacks and sandwiches available for order. Pricing is slightly less than most airport prices but this is relative to your airport. We ordered a Meal Deal which includes a drink, a sandwich and a snack for 8 Euro and a Chicken soup for 3 euro. Taste was decent but a bit dry for the sandwich. See pics for various options.

Overall, a quiet and comfortable flight!
